Ada Da Silva is a Cuban-born modernist sculptor based in Miami. Working primarily in bronze, her practice explores the human figure as a vessel for emotion, movement, and inner tension.

After a formative decade in Mexico City, where she refined her technique alongside established international artists, Da Silva developed a distinct sculptural language defined by elongated forms, suspended gestures, and a quiet balance between strength and vulnerability.

Her work merges the permanence of bronze with the fragility of human experience, capturing moments that feel both intimate and monumental.

The work

Ada Da Silva’s sculptures transform private emotion into physical form. Each work begins through journaling and sketching, before evolving into hand-built clay over several months and ultimately being cast in bronze.

Through this process, fleeting gestures become permanent. Her elongated figures hold moments of movement, tension, and stillness, creating a quiet dialogue between fragility and strength.

Refined through chasing, patination, and surface treatment, each sculpture carries the trace of the hand while achieving the permanence and presence of bronze.

Series

Emotions

The Emotions Series explores the intersection of the human form and the complexity of our inner lives. From the exuberant, playful energy of Joy to the quiet introspection of The Thinker, these twelve bronze sculptures turn fleeting feelings into lasting monuments — giving permanence to life’s most delicate moments and translating quiet, powerful emotions into the enduring medium of bronze.

Series

Feminism

The Feminism Series explores the space between pressure and liberation. Through elongated bronze figures caught in moments of tension, movement, and release, Ada Da Silva gives physical form to the emotional weight carried by women as they navigate constraint, silence, and transformation.

In works such as Sails and Exhale, the body becomes both symbol and force. One figure appears to move against a turbulent current, resisting the external forces that attempt to hold her back. Another captures the intimate moment of release, where breath becomes voice and vulnerability becomes power.

Together, the series reflects on resilience, self-possession, and the act of reclaiming one’s own space.
