It’s been known for the fashion industry that Maria Grazia Chiuri’s most favorite creative challenge are the Cruise/Resort collections. This time, the Creative Director was very inspired by Frida Kahlo, her work, way of living and of course, her wardrobe.
As disruptive as Frida was, this collection connected Mexican heritage within classic forms and styles, proper of the Parisian Couture House.
Embroideries, butterflies, capes, ponchos, prints, hats and statement messages could be the key words to describe Chiuri’s detailed work. Alongside exhaustive research and empowering co-working results within Mexican artists and history.
MGC found extraordinary conversations between Dior’s legacy, back in the day when in 1954 the House visited Mexican heritage, women’s current position in life and of course, the unmissable identity shapes that re-defined fashion’s history with the iconic “New Look”.
