In its very own words and designs, Véronique Nichanian imagined Hermès boys wearing very short shorts, big bags and lots of satin and soft fabrics. The French luxury house has been part of the current “Quiet Luxury” trend even before it existed, it was in fact one of the first ones to explore minimalism, layering and good soft colors in both menswear and womenswear.
Even with the fussy trends, the classic Birkins are always part of the Hermès boy. And so, are some prints, knitted cardigans, lots of gray, pastels and leather goods. That’s after all a resumé of the next wearable wardrobe for the 2024 summer. It did play a lot with equestrian references, as it should because what is more equestrian than simplicity and functionality?
High quality materials are part of Hermès DNA, and this collection is one that we will be seeing all over the place in both series and real life. A new masculinity is definitely approaching luxury houses, but each one draws their own version of it, creating their own rules.
